With Diversity MBA, it started with a virtual conference. It ended with a birds’ eye view of corporate relations.

  • I was initially brought onto the team to assist with Diversity MBA’s 14th Annual Business Leaders Conference - their first ever fully virtual programming endeavor. In this role, I supported panelists and contributors by hosting pre-conference calls and working sessions to clarify content, and moderate talks during the conference.

My duties also included assisting with coordinating the transition to our online conference platform, Pathable. As the event is typically held in a large hotel space, it was a great learning experience to learn how to translate everything into a virtual format in the midst of the pandemic. Orienting presenters and contributors to the space was imperative to create a smooth conference experience and inspire confidence for future programming.

I also headed a virtual philanthropic exhibition floor, for which I gathered support and connections with organizations like the Obama Foundation, Dress for Success, and the NAACP to create partnership opportunities for the wide range of attendees that participated online.

  • I served as the main liaison to Top 100 honorees after the success of the 2020 virtual conference. Partnering with the Assocate Director of Corporate Relations and Engagment, I worked to create lasting connections and networking opportunities for honorees that were new to the cohort, and ongoing partnerships with awardees of years’ past. My exposure to these professionals gave me experience working with stakeholders from leaders of various industries.

  • I worked with team members at Bold Business to optimize and clarify aspects of the Diversity MBA website to reflect the CEO’s improved vision for the organization. This involved updating content, organizing webpages, and optimizing our back end file structure to support the new site in a beneficial way.

As Diversity MBA deals with a lot of research and has years of assets available, it was important to create an archive system that allowed team members to access the most updated information in a way that was intuitive and scalable as more projects were added.

  • To support individual training for internal team members and create ease in the onboarding process for interns, I began by creating a survey to gain an idea of our team’s capacity for our current load of programs and applications which included Salesforce, Constant Contact, Microsoft 365, and professional development tools like LinkedIn. Once this information was gathered, I partnered with experienced team members to co-create content based on each program in a workshop style asynchronous offering that recieved positive reviews from staff.
